Noor Al Hussein Foundation to Hold Free Medical Days in Al Qweira
22nd April 2012

The Noor Al Hussein Foundation's (NHF) Poverty Pockets Empowerment Program is scheduled to hold three free medical days in Al Qweira from Tuesday, April 24th, 2012 until Thursday, April 26th, 2012.

The medical days will be held at the Military Integrated Al Qweira Medical Center from 9 am until 2 pm and will target residents and those living in the areas of Al Qweira, Debet Hanout, Humaimah, and Al Rashidieh.

The free medical days will provide residents with the opportunity to visit doctors including those who specialize in internal medicine, an ear, nose and throat doctor, in addition to a dentist, a pediatrician, and a doctor in general medicine.

There will also be a clinic set up by Noor Al Hussein Foundation's Institute for Family Health (IFH) with free screenings for the early detection of disabilities.

The doctors from the IFH will be working alongside doctors from the Jordanian Royal Medical Services and from private companies to provide the free health check ups and laboratory tests to residents living in underserved areas.

Free medications and medical equipment will also be provided according to patient needs.

"This is one of the Poverty Pockets Empowerment Program initiatives which comes as a direct response to the needs of the residents in Al Qweira," explained Mohammad Al Zoubi, program manager for the Noor Al Hussein Foundation.
"It will help by providing some of the medical services that are not available to the people who live in that area, especially the early detection of disabilities which will be followed up on in coordination with the militarily and public hospitals in Aqaba," he added.
