Amman Arab Music Ensemble Reunites to Present an Evening of “Um Kalthum”

Monday, November 5, 2012 – The Amman Arab Music Ensemble, conducted by Sakher Hatter reunited this evening to present a night of “Um Kalthum”.

Jordanian Singers Rami Shafiq and Natalie Saman performed some of Um Kulthum’s most famous songs, accompanied by the Amman Arab Music Ensemble.

The concert, which took place at Al-Hussein Cultural Center in Ras Al-Ein included the songs «Ya Mesaharny» «Lesa Faker» «Seret El Hub» and «Hakam Elina Ilhawa».

Renowned Jordanian singer Rami Shafiq participated in the Jordanian Song Festival, the Jerash Festival in 1993 and 1999, and won the prize for the best performance and the best song in the Petra Festival in 2002. He also won first prize in the Arab Song Festival, which took place in Morocco.

Natalie Saman has studied voice at the National Music Conservatory since 2006 and she also plays the Oud.

Her first appearance on the stage was on the occasion of His Majesty King Abdullah II’s birthday on January 30, 2007, when she sang with Amman Symphony Orchestra and Amman Arab Music Ensemble.
