Scene with NCCA Actor in Wadi Rum Nov. 15, 2012

November 26, 2012 – An artistic venture by the National Interactive Theatre Troupe of the National Center for Culture and Arts (NCCA) and Siljeholm/Christophersen – Norway in cooperation with the SAE Institute and Jordan Pioneers Multimedia Production Company has culminated in the creation of a multi-media interactive theater production entitled, “The Valley of the Moon” which will debut in Amman under the patronage of Her Majesty Queen Noor Al Hussein on February 21, 2013.

Siljeholm/Christophersen is a dance artist duo consisting of Helle Siljeholm and Sara Christophersen.  Based in Oslo, they both have dance backgrounds from London where they trained at the London Contemporary Dance School and the Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance respectively.

The artists just completed their collaboration with actors and artists from the NCCA to create the production which uses animation, video, music and physical movement to communicate its story; five actors on stage blend in with four projected video images.  The backdrop of visual imagery and animation is the Valley of the Moon in Wadi Rum in Jordan.

The performance, which is based on a Jordanian folk tale, is aimed at children ages six-to-twelve.

Following the premiere in Amman, schools will be invited to attend matinee performances in the NCCA theatre and there will be evening performances for families. The project is funded by the Norwegian Embassy.
