IRC Studying Impact of new Social Security Law on Employment Opportunities for Women
22nd November 2011

The Information and Research Center (IRC) in cooperation with the World Bank is in the process of conducting a policy research study to explore the anticipated impact of the new Social Security Law on employment opportunities for women.

The study is guided by both the new Social Security Law (Temporary Law No. 7), passed in 2010, and by issues related to female labor force participation.

The research study is looking into three broad research themes including: the perceptions of the key stakeholders regarding the usefulness of the new social insurance law/reform to women, the expected outcomes of the new social insurance law/reform, and the barriers or facilitating factors related to the effective implementation of the new social insurance law/reform.

The six week study will be finalized in January of 2012. This research study based in qualitative research methods will use individual in-depth interviews and focus groups with key social actors.
