From Data to Dignity: Paving the Way for Survivor-Centered GBV Services in Jordan

June 11 2025

The Information and Research Center (IRCKHF) has launched two policy papers marking a bold stride in the fight against gender-based violence (GBV) in the country.

At the core of the project is a Holistic Community Response Center, which brings together legal, psychological, and medical support for survivors in a single accessible location—often a community-based center. This model also strengthens frontline responders through a holistic and sustainable approach.

The first policy paper, Enhancing Gender-Based Violence Data Systems in Jordan, calls for a unified and inclusive data system to ensure no survivor’s story goes unheard. It emphasizes the need for centralized data collection, standardized indicators, and improved institutional capacity to respond with precision and compassion.

The second paper, Strengthening the Domestic Violence Protection Law in Jordan, examines the strengths and gaps in the implementation of Law No. 15 of 2017. It advocates for clearer definitions of violence, stronger enforcement of protection orders, and survivor-centered legal reforms that uphold safety and dignity.

Together, these papers present a powerful vision: a Jordan where every woman and girl can live free from fear of violence, where data drives justice, and laws protect lives.

Funded by the European Union, this initiative is implemented by the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID), UNFPA, and national organizations.
