This project, grounded in research from the Centre for the Understanding of Sustainable Prosperity, led by Middlesex, Surrey, and Hertfordshire universities, challenges the traditional focus on GDP growth by promoting a development model centered on wellbeing and environmental sustainability.
The Jubilee Institute, with funding from the Asfari Foundation, is implementing a Citizen Science and Social Entrepreneurship initiative to strengthen youth engagement with nature, while the Information and Research Centre (IRC) leads on research and policy outputs. Starting with Jubilee School, students explore native and non-native tree species in Jordan to promote nature connection, STREAM education, and environmental stewardship. The project includes field-based learning, data collection, and resource development, with plans to expand to other schools by 2026.
