126 youth were given the opportunity to execute 29 social initiatives in five underserved neighborhoods of Amman during dire socio-economic conditions due to Covid-19. The ‘Heart of Amman: Community Initiatives and Entrepreneurship Support’ project implemented by the Community Development Institute, was a life-changing opportunity for the youth and their communities. Environmentally friendly practices were introduced such as launching home-herb gardens, school support programs for kids, information on COVID-19 health and safety procedures, in addition to offering seed money and entrepreneurship courses to daily workers and youth to get back on their feet following the pandemic. This program was funded by the Government of Japan in cooperation with the UNDP-Jordan.
